The Medical Students Social Prescribing Network would like to personally invite you to the next Social Prescribing Conference being held in London on Sunday 10th March.
National Social Prescribing Conference for Students and Junior Doctors (2nd Edition)
Equipping and inspiring tomorrow’s doctors to deliver the NHS Long Term Plan
Sunday March 10th, 2019
Venue: The Royal Society of Medicine, 1 Wimpole St, Marylebone, London W1G 0AE
Following last year’s success, there has been a growing movement across the UK medical schools to position social prescribing and personalised care as a cornerstone for creating good health and wellbeing.
This unmissable opportunity in the heart of London brings together students from all over the UK to continue the conversation, explore the benefits of social prescribing and plan how to spread social prescribing. This is an exciting time for social prescribing. The Government’s Loneliness Strategy released last year stated that it anticipated that there will be a link worker in very GP practice by 2023. The NHS Long Term Plan has just been released which clarifies the NHS commitment to social prescribing and states that the NHS will recruit 1000 link workers this year with the aim of 900k people supported by social prescribing by 2023.
This year’s edition will focus on the NHS Long Term Plan, with an emphasis on prevention, social determinants of health and engaging the future generation of doctors in delivering high quality care for all.
